Sandy Luksic and Scott Messinger, co-founders of the Lake Monroe Handicap Fishing Derby, saw the need for adults as well as handicap and special needs children to have a daylong enjoyable occasion. The event caters to any handicap individuals with ages ranging from 5 years old and up. The event will take place at Lake Monroe in Middletown Ohio on May 17th from 1:00pm-6:00pm or later. No alcoholic beverages are permitted at this event.
The special guests will relish in a day of free fishing, with poles and bait provided for them. Siblings and friends can attend and fish for a small $3 fee. With over 350 attendees including parents, guests and volunteers, the families are encouraged to relax and enjoy themselves. Steve’s Trophies with the financial assistance of a private donor is providing the trophies for the event. Although food and drinks are provided, the families are encouraged to bring a side dish to share. Other events include a petting zoo, clown, door prizes and a raffle, which were all generously donated by local businesses and individuals.
